“There are many variations of diabetes beyond type one and type two. Diabetes can come from obesity or genetics; it could come in childhood or adulthood; and some need insulin and some don’t. As the outsider, the only thing you need to know is that you don’t know anything. Your comments and beliefs don’t make it easier, and– believe it or not — we’ve probably heard it before.”

As a Type I diabetic I have too many emotions to process about this post. However this quote above resonated with me. Last week someone tried to tell me about my diabetes. Really. A non diabetic tried to tell me about MY diabetes. I hate when people try to do that. I’ve lived with this for 20 years. Thank you. Keep your comments to yourself.
